After decades behind the chair, founders Amerah Underwood, Andrew Inconstanti, and Elle Medico shared a vision for a different kind of salon. One where luxury felt personal, every detail was considered, and clients could slow down, feel known, and leave feeling their best. In 2024, that vision became UMI.
Set in the heart of New York City’s Flatiron District, UMI brings together some of the city’s most accomplished independent stylists for exceptional hair, thoughtful hospitality, and a distinctly personal experience.
Created in collaboration with acclaimed interior designer Nina Robinson, UMI pairs elevated style with thoughtful function. Every detail was designed to feel warm, intimate, artful, and quietly luxurious.
